Ghosts Explained: What Are We Really Experiencing? w/J. Allan Danelek

Are ghosts really the spirits of the dead—or could something far stranger explain centuries of paranormal encounters?

On this episode of ParaTruth: Reborn, Justin and Erik welcome author J. Allan Danelek to discuss his book Ghosts Explained and explore the mysterious territory between absolute belief and cynical skepticism.

Across cultures and throughout history, people have reported apparitions, strange voices, unexplained footsteps, intelligent interactions, and locations seemingly haunted by past events. But calling something a “ghost” doesn’t necessarily explain what happened.

We explore:
• What consciousness might tell us about survival after death
• Interactive vs. non-interactive hauntings
• Residual hauntings and whether events can somehow leave an imprint
• The psychology surrounding paranormal experiences
• How a haunting might actually work
• Ghost hunting equipment and what it really measures
• Spirit communication and its limitations
• Whether some alleged ghosts could have completely different explanations
• Dangerous or negative entities
• The evidence that keeps Danelek from both blind belief and complete skepticism

J. Allan Danelek has written numerous books on paranormal, spiritual, historical, and Fortean subjects and has appeared on programs including Coast to Coast AM. His work encourages readers to investigate extraordinary claims while remaining open to possibilities we may not yet fully understand.

Coming up on Paratruth Reborn, we will be talking to J.

2
00:00:04.589 --> 00:00:06.230
Allen Daniluk about his.

3
00:00:06.190 --> 00:00:15.019
Book, Ghosts Explained. Welcome to Paratruth.

4
00:00:40.979 --> 00:00:46.490
What's going on, Paratroothers? Welcome to another episode of Paratrooth Reborn.

5
00:00:46.509 --> 00:00:48.869
My name is Justin. And I'm Eric.

6
00:00:50.009 --> 00:00:52.810
And tonight, we're tackling probably one of the biggest subjects

7
00:00:52.929 --> 00:00:55.380
in the paranormal world. You guessed it.

8
00:00:56.060 --> 00:00:56.579
Ghosts.

9
00:00:57.420 --> 00:01:01.750
People report it. encounters with apparitions and spirits for thousands

10
00:01:01.789 --> 00:01:07.269
of years. And here's the question we don't ask nearly enough.

11
00:01:08.010 --> 00:01:10.810
What exactly do we mean when we say.

12
00:01:10.650 --> 00:01:11.670
Something is a ghost?

13
00:01:12.390 --> 00:01:17.379
Our guest tonight will help us answer that very question. Jeff,

14
00:01:17.599 --> 00:01:19.459
welcome to Paratroop Reborn.

15
00:01:20.120 --> 00:01:21.780
Well, thank you guys. Appreciate being here.

16
00:01:23.079 --> 00:01:26.340
Appreciate you being here as well. So before we get

17
00:01:26.379 --> 00:01:30.439
into the book itself, Ghosts Explained, How did you start

18
00:01:30.599 --> 00:01:31.840
your journey in the paranormal?

19
00:01:32.840 --> 00:01:34.840
Well, I was one of those weird kids growing up

20
00:01:34.879 --> 00:01:38.519
that liked the Bermuda Triangle and UFOs and Bigfoot and

21
00:01:38.579 --> 00:01:41.120
all that stuff. And I just always was fascinated by

22
00:01:41.189 --> 00:01:44.469
the subject. And I went on and had my life.

23
00:01:44.620 --> 00:01:46.530
And then when I hit my 40s, I thought, you know,

24
00:01:47.170 --> 00:01:51.730
I should turn this interest into something more useful. So

25
00:01:51.769 --> 00:01:55.069
I began writing about it, doing my research, putting it

26
00:01:55.109 --> 00:01:56.950
into book form. And I was lucky enough to get

27
00:01:57.659 --> 00:02:01.540
Llewellyn Publishing to pick up my first books. And so

28
00:02:01.579 --> 00:02:03.900
I've put out about, I don't know, eight or nine,

29
00:02:03.900 --> 00:02:08.300
10 books since then on different paranormal subjects and have

30
00:02:08.379 --> 00:02:10.750
enjoyed it immensely every minute of it.

31
00:02:11.599 --> 00:02:11.919
Awesome.

32
00:02:12.280 --> 00:02:12.599
Nice.

33
00:02:13.090 --> 00:02:15.669
Well, you know, one of the things that had Justin

34
00:02:15.689 --> 00:02:19.030
and I really gravitate toward you and your publications is

35
00:02:19.069 --> 00:02:22.650
that your book occupies this kind of interesting middle ground

36
00:02:22.669 --> 00:02:25.729
that we both respect and follow as well. And that

37
00:02:25.789 --> 00:02:30.349
is kind of a middle ground between hardcore paranormal belief

38
00:02:30.729 --> 00:02:35.729
and skepticism. Why was that kind of perspective particularly important

39
00:02:35.770 --> 00:02:37.229
to you in writing this book?

40
00:02:38.960 --> 00:02:44.080
I think I have always been kind of a skeptic

41
00:02:44.120 --> 00:02:47.080
at heart. When people tell me stories, I'm always trying

42
00:02:47.099 --> 00:02:49.969
to figure out, is this real? Is this something I

43
00:02:50.000 --> 00:02:53.900
can investigate? Is it something I can explain away? So

44
00:02:53.960 --> 00:02:57.750
I've always approached those subjects from that perspective. That's not

45
00:02:57.770 --> 00:03:01.550
to say I don't have my own beliefs, and I

46
00:03:01.610 --> 00:03:05.250
do try to express them. But as I said earlier,

47
00:03:05.669 --> 00:03:09.680
my beliefs are really not dyed in the wool. My

48
00:03:09.780 --> 00:03:12.159
whole identity is not built around them. So I just

49
00:03:12.199 --> 00:03:14.360
try to look at both sides if I can, and

50
00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:16.860
I find that that is really the only way that

51
00:03:16.900 --> 00:03:20.569
you're going to find out anything of value is just

52
00:03:20.610 --> 00:03:22.240
by looking at both sides of it.

53
00:03:22.610 --> 00:03:22.770
Yeah.

54
00:03:26.169 --> 00:03:29.129
Now, in this society, in this day and age, we

55
00:03:29.210 --> 00:03:33.289
use the word ghost constantly. But what exactly are we

56
00:03:33.389 --> 00:03:36.710
talking about here when we use the word ghost? Or

57
00:03:36.909 --> 00:03:39.210
in your opinion, what does that word mean?

58
00:03:40.740 --> 00:03:44.599
Well, in my book, I define a ghost very specifically

59
00:03:45.080 --> 00:03:49.699
as a conscious energy from a once living human being.

60
00:03:49.819 --> 00:03:52.099
So in other words, it's not an angel. It's not

61
00:03:52.139 --> 00:03:55.439
a demon. It's not a spirit guide. It's not an

62
00:03:55.520 --> 00:03:58.479
extraterrestrial or anything like that. It's an actual human being

63
00:03:58.520 --> 00:04:02.719
who has since passed, whose consciousness continues to exist in

64
00:04:02.800 --> 00:04:07.219
some degree within the physical realm and can be, under

65
00:04:07.319 --> 00:04:11.120
the right circumstances, can manifest itself and be contacted with.

66
00:04:14.800 --> 00:04:15.199
Okay.

67
00:04:15.539 --> 00:04:22.980
Well, now, when you say ghosts, it's literally... just people's spirits,

68
00:04:23.279 --> 00:04:30.439
not necessarily anything other than that. Um, but in your opinion, like,

69
00:04:32.759 --> 00:04:35.470
are there other things that can be contacting us?

70
00:04:36.910 --> 00:04:40.509
Yeah, absolutely. I believe that the spiritual realm is filled

71
00:04:40.550 --> 00:04:43.649
with all kinds of different entities. Some of them have

72
00:04:44.069 --> 00:04:46.769
been in human form or physical form before. Others have

73
00:04:46.829 --> 00:04:50.110
never been in physical form. These are, you would call ghosts,

74
00:04:50.189 --> 00:04:54.529
I suppose. And, Some of these entities are on a

75
00:04:54.569 --> 00:04:57.829
very high vibrational frequency, and some of them are very

76
00:04:57.889 --> 00:05:00.649
low vibrational frequency. Those are what you would call, I guess,

77
00:05:01.170 --> 00:05:05.069
your demons or your malevolent spirits. But I do believe

78
00:05:05.129 --> 00:05:07.800
that the spiritual realm is filled with a lot of

79
00:05:07.879 --> 00:05:13.279
different entities that we can sometimes get in contact with

80
00:05:13.360 --> 00:05:14.579
under the right circumstances.

81
00:05:17.279 --> 00:05:20.589
And belief in ghosts actually appears... In cultures around the world,

82
00:05:20.610 --> 00:05:24.250
we have been hearing about ghosts since ancient times. We've

83
00:05:24.269 --> 00:05:27.860
seen writings about it. We've heard stories about it. How

84
00:05:27.889 --> 00:05:34.339
significant do you find that universality? Why does it seem

85
00:05:34.399 --> 00:05:38.579
so popular and so prominent within culture?

86
00:05:38.600 --> 00:05:42.620
I always thought that whenever something has a historical roots

87
00:05:42.800 --> 00:05:45.500
to it, it tends to give it a bit more validity.

88
00:05:46.319 --> 00:05:48.420
I kind of look at the same thing with Bigfoot.

89
00:05:48.579 --> 00:05:51.540
If you look at some of the Indian folklore where

90
00:05:51.600 --> 00:05:55.730
this creature has been around for generations, to me, that

91
00:05:56.209 --> 00:05:59.449
takes it out of the modern context and puts it

92
00:05:59.490 --> 00:06:04.790
back into a more, it gives it a substantial foundation

93
00:06:04.850 --> 00:06:07.310
is what I'm trying to say. So when something exists

94
00:06:07.360 --> 00:06:10.139
in a lot of different cultures and it crosses different

95
00:06:10.160 --> 00:06:13.800
cultural barriers, different cultures that have never contacted each other,

96
00:06:14.540 --> 00:06:18.199
You have to look at that as not as proof, obviously,

97
00:06:18.240 --> 00:06:22.540
but as evidence that there's something going on on a

98
00:06:23.339 --> 00:06:24.160
pretty basic level.

99
00:06:28.689 --> 00:06:32.509
So before we talk, like get into the deep talk

100
00:06:32.550 --> 00:06:37.170
about ghosts, we should probably address what consciousness is. What

101
00:06:37.350 --> 00:06:39.930
do we actually understand about consciousness right now?

102
00:06:41.569 --> 00:06:47.930
Oh, that's a big question. Consciousness, there's a big debate, obviously.

103
00:06:47.949 --> 00:06:49.870
It's been around for a long time. What is the

104
00:06:49.930 --> 00:06:52.639
source of consciousness? Is it something that's generated by the

105
00:06:52.699 --> 00:06:56.879
brain itself? And then once we die, that consciousness vanishes?

106
00:06:57.459 --> 00:07:00.100
Or is it something that exists outside of ourselves? And

107
00:07:00.139 --> 00:07:03.379
the brain acts not as a transmitter, but as a receiver.

108
00:07:04.790 --> 00:07:07.029
One of the theories that I work with that I

109
00:07:07.069 --> 00:07:10.790
think is very valid is, is that consciousness is a field.

110
00:07:11.589 --> 00:07:17.089
It's the primary cause field behind everything that exists. And

111
00:07:17.310 --> 00:07:20.329
when we are born, our brain acts like a receiver

112
00:07:20.389 --> 00:07:23.310
and actually pulls in that consciousness like a radio signal.

113
00:07:24.310 --> 00:07:27.850
And because each brain has a unique pattern, it manifests

114
00:07:27.889 --> 00:07:31.290
as a unique personality. And this is basically, to me,

115
00:07:31.329 --> 00:07:40.649
what actually survives our physical death is this collection of thoughts, experiences,

116
00:07:40.730 --> 00:07:44.850
beliefs that continues to exist in that form even after

117
00:07:44.870 --> 00:07:48.529
the brain is no longer active. So that's kind of

118
00:07:49.050 --> 00:07:49.800
the short answer.

119
00:07:50.389 --> 00:07:50.649
Okay.

120
00:07:51.009 --> 00:07:53.779
Yeah. So, I mean, with that said, if we are

121
00:07:53.839 --> 00:07:58.180
considering that the consciousness can exist independently of the physical

122
00:07:58.199 --> 00:08:01.540
body and that these are thoughts and emotions that exist,

123
00:08:02.779 --> 00:08:05.540
how do we, and I don't know if you actually

124
00:08:05.579 --> 00:08:06.759
had the answer to this or if you have a

125
00:08:06.779 --> 00:08:10.639
theory maybe, but how do we discern or can we

126
00:08:10.740 --> 00:08:14.680
figure that like why some ghosts may be intelligent while

127
00:08:14.819 --> 00:08:17.560
others tend to be more residual and just in a

128
00:08:17.600 --> 00:08:23.259
repetitive state of time rather than, you know, able to

129
00:08:23.279 --> 00:08:23.800
talk to us.

130
00:08:25.300 --> 00:08:29.139
Yeah. When you're talking about ghosts, you're talking about not

131
00:08:29.199 --> 00:08:34.519
just intelligent honkings. You're also talking about residuals and a residual,

132
00:08:34.960 --> 00:08:39.409
as I understand it, is where the, uh, an experience

133
00:08:39.450 --> 00:08:43.230
or an event is imprinted upon the environment itself and

134
00:08:43.289 --> 00:08:46.600
replays itself under certain circumstances. This is where you might

135
00:08:47.639 --> 00:08:50.980
see a battle being played out that happened 100 years

136
00:08:51.039 --> 00:08:54.240
ago because it has kind of a residual effect. Or

137
00:08:54.299 --> 00:08:58.250
you might have an individual who once occupied a particular

138
00:08:58.639 --> 00:09:03.909
location who, for whatever reason, they got imprinted into the environment.

139
00:09:03.950 --> 00:09:06.690
So even after they're gone, you still might see them

140
00:09:07.289 --> 00:09:10.809
moving about their home or whatever. And the idea here

141
00:09:10.889 --> 00:09:14.049
is that this is not truly a ghost. This is

142
00:09:14.129 --> 00:09:17.320
more of an afterimage of a ghost, sort of like

143
00:09:18.000 --> 00:09:21.639
a videotape being replayed. The person in the videotape no

144
00:09:21.679 --> 00:09:24.759
longer exists, but you can still watch it over and

145
00:09:24.799 --> 00:09:28.039
over again. As opposed to an intelligent haunting where you

146
00:09:28.080 --> 00:09:31.840
have an entity which is not residual, but is actually

147
00:09:31.879 --> 00:09:36.840
capable of speaking with you or understanding you or following instructions.

148
00:09:38.049 --> 00:09:43.230
And then there's a third type, which is your apparitions.

149
00:09:43.330 --> 00:09:46.620
This is something like a ghost ship or an airplane

150
00:09:47.399 --> 00:09:50.799
or something like that that's not a physical thing, but

151
00:09:50.919 --> 00:09:54.990
actually exists as an element of the spirit itself. So,

152
00:09:55.049 --> 00:09:59.590
for example, a pilot who was killed in World War II,

153
00:09:59.629 --> 00:10:04.100
let's say, might manifest inside his airplane. So you would

154
00:10:04.139 --> 00:10:07.139
actually see the airplane itself as part of the manifestation.

155
00:10:07.159 --> 00:10:10.929
And so it's not really residual, but that's kind of

156
00:10:10.970 --> 00:10:15.549
an interesting idea that you are creating these elements around

157
00:10:15.570 --> 00:10:20.440
yourself as a disembodied energy. So it's something to think

158
00:10:20.480 --> 00:10:24.000
about when you think about do pets, are there such

159
00:10:24.019 --> 00:10:27.279
a thing as ghost pets? And I believe that some

160
00:10:27.320 --> 00:10:30.539
people can actually manifest these creatures that were close to

161
00:10:30.559 --> 00:10:35.240
them in life and actually appear with their pet. So,

162
00:10:36.320 --> 00:10:39.179
I mean, the idea, this is why I like to

163
00:10:39.230 --> 00:10:41.720
write the book is because there's so much complexity to it.

164
00:10:42.490 --> 00:10:44.149
You have to kind of really work your way through

165
00:10:44.169 --> 00:10:46.029
it and find out all these different theories.

166
00:10:46.809 --> 00:10:47.110
Yeah.

167
00:10:47.629 --> 00:10:50.649
You know, I've never actually thought about the idea of,

168
00:10:50.789 --> 00:10:53.129
I mean, obviously it makes sense. Like why would a

169
00:10:53.309 --> 00:10:56.049
ship have a spirit? Why would it have a ghost

170
00:10:56.269 --> 00:10:59.230
that's floating on the sea, you know, or a plane

171
00:10:59.250 --> 00:11:01.529
in the air, unless it is somehow tied to the

172
00:11:01.590 --> 00:11:05.299
consciousness of those who had perished on that particular vessel?

173
00:11:06.480 --> 00:11:09.580
You know, and that's, it's funny how many years you've

174
00:11:09.600 --> 00:11:12.600
been doing this and there's still enlightenment out there. Like

175
00:11:12.919 --> 00:11:15.159
never thought about it. Never even crossed my mind. That's

176
00:11:15.179 --> 00:11:16.179
kind of wild to think about.

177
00:11:16.240 --> 00:11:20.899
It'll blow in there. Whoa, wait a second. Okay. Cool.

178
00:11:21.230 --> 00:11:24.049
I got your thinking there. Yeah.

179
00:11:24.990 --> 00:11:26.850
Well, like Eric mentioned, I mean, we've been doing this

180
00:11:26.970 --> 00:11:32.509
for 18 years, technically probably 19 years doing the paranormal

181
00:11:32.529 --> 00:11:35.789
investigations because we started that before we started doing podcasting.

182
00:11:35.809 --> 00:11:47.320
In your opinion, like, rare example maybe, but, um, a, a,

183
00:11:48.169 --> 00:11:52.610
how can you tell the difference like for a intelligent

184
00:11:52.649 --> 00:11:57.309
versus residual? If you're asking questions or, or you're asking

185
00:11:57.350 --> 00:12:00.029
for something and that residual is doing something and it

186
00:12:00.210 --> 00:12:02.190
seems like it's an answer and it's not.

187
00:12:04.409 --> 00:12:08.379
Well, I'm not quite clear if I completely understand your question,

188
00:12:08.389 --> 00:12:10.120
but I will say that how you can tell if

189
00:12:10.139 --> 00:12:13.500
you're dealing with residual is is often it'll just ignore you.

190
00:12:13.759 --> 00:12:17.000
It'll just go about its business doing its thing. And

191
00:12:17.389 --> 00:12:19.710
if it interacts with you in any way, it's probably

192
00:12:19.750 --> 00:12:22.690
not a residual. It just may be a spirit which

193
00:12:23.049 --> 00:12:26.490
has a routine that it goes through quite frequently, and

194
00:12:26.549 --> 00:12:29.169
it just happens to appear to you at one point.

195
00:12:29.809 --> 00:12:32.360
So that's kind of the biggest difference, is a residual

196
00:12:32.740 --> 00:12:36.879
obviously doesn't know you're there and just continues on as

197
00:12:36.919 --> 00:12:38.860
though you don't exist.

198
00:12:39.860 --> 00:12:41.240
Okay. So....

199
00:12:42.600 --> 00:12:44.960
I'm going to follow up with a question regarding that.

200
00:12:44.980 --> 00:12:51.179
So if we're considering a residual haunting, this is a timestamp, right?

201
00:12:51.639 --> 00:12:55.100
In a preexistent point of time where this spirit may

202
00:12:55.139 --> 00:12:56.820
have had a lot of energy stored, it could have

203
00:12:56.840 --> 00:13:00.659
been any reason whatsoever that this spirit or this energy

204
00:13:00.720 --> 00:13:05.590
is there. But I tend to think of residuals similar

205
00:13:05.690 --> 00:13:10.990
to a ripple in a lake. And when it first happens,

206
00:13:11.000 --> 00:13:13.210
when the first death happens or the first time it shows,

207
00:13:13.659 --> 00:13:16.830
it's strong. But then throughout time, it slowly starts to

208
00:13:16.889 --> 00:13:18.509
dissipate over a.

209
00:13:18.509 --> 00:13:19.169
Course of time.

210
00:13:20.110 --> 00:13:22.669
But one thing that I've heard constantly from a number

211
00:13:22.690 --> 00:13:25.309
of people that we've had on is that spirits, whether

212
00:13:25.350 --> 00:13:28.970
residual or otherwise, can feed off the energy that we

213
00:13:29.009 --> 00:13:33.970
bring into a home or an area. So in regards

214
00:13:34.049 --> 00:13:38.470
to Justin's question and your answer, definitely. Do you find

215
00:13:38.509 --> 00:13:40.950
or have you found that when it comes to residual haunting,

216
00:13:40.990 --> 00:13:43.840
depending on someone's own energy and what they bring to it,

217
00:13:44.309 --> 00:13:48.970
that that residual haunting may heighten and become more hyperactive

218
00:13:49.370 --> 00:13:55.200
in its ability to project and display itself? Or does

219
00:13:55.240 --> 00:13:58.240
it still tend to just ignore and not even notice

220
00:13:58.259 --> 00:13:59.240
that we're there regardless?

221
00:14:00.960 --> 00:14:04.840
Well, why a residual is activated is a source of

222
00:14:04.899 --> 00:14:08.679
some debate. Really, there's no clear idea of what causes

223
00:14:08.710 --> 00:14:13.629
a residual to suddenly manifest itself. However, your point about

224
00:14:13.929 --> 00:14:18.950
these entities using energy is valid. And this has to

225
00:14:18.990 --> 00:14:22.929
do more with the intelligent hominids. It seems that they

226
00:14:22.970 --> 00:14:26.830
can pull energy off of not only electronic equipment, but

227
00:14:26.929 --> 00:14:29.779
out of people itself. So if you go into a

228
00:14:29.840 --> 00:14:34.360
situation and you're frightened, for example, there are certain energies

229
00:14:34.399 --> 00:14:37.220
that can pull that energy out of you and feed

230
00:14:37.279 --> 00:14:39.779
off of it. This is the case of where you

231
00:14:39.960 --> 00:14:42.580
start talking about demons and things like that are very

232
00:14:42.679 --> 00:14:48.779
negative entities. Most ghosts are not evil. They're not trying

233
00:14:48.870 --> 00:14:52.990
to hurt you. They're not even really trying to scare you.

234
00:14:53.009 --> 00:14:56.090
The reason you get scared of them is because it's

235
00:14:56.110 --> 00:14:59.039
something unknown. And we have a tendency to be frightened

236
00:14:59.120 --> 00:15:04.529
of that which we don't understand. But your point about

237
00:15:04.909 --> 00:15:08.990
the energy is valid. I think this is how they manifest.

238
00:15:09.529 --> 00:15:13.850
But it also depends upon the degree of understanding that

239
00:15:13.889 --> 00:15:17.990
the spirit itself possesses. So I believe that some spirits

240
00:15:18.129 --> 00:15:21.529
are more capable of manifesting than others are. Because they

241
00:15:21.580 --> 00:15:26.059
have a better, maybe they're more focused on what they

242
00:15:26.100 --> 00:15:28.470
want to do. rather than a lot of spirits are

243
00:15:28.509 --> 00:15:31.629
just observing us and not really sure how to get

244
00:15:31.690 --> 00:15:34.149
our attention. And some of them have an idea of

245
00:15:34.269 --> 00:15:37.889
how to get to our attention and we'll actually, uh, go,

246
00:15:38.029 --> 00:15:38.950
go ahead and proceed with it.

247
00:15:40.200 --> 00:15:44.000
Well, here we go. Sorry, Justin, take it over the microphone.

248
00:15:44.720 --> 00:15:48.580
Um, another followup to that then is when you think

249
00:15:48.620 --> 00:15:52.299
about that, just for a moment, let's focus just shortly

250
00:15:52.500 --> 00:15:57.940
on this aspect of demons or negative spirits or energies. Um, Now,

251
00:15:57.980 --> 00:16:01.100
you mentioned that some spirits know how to get our

252
00:16:01.139 --> 00:16:05.419
attention and why people may fear something is because they

253
00:16:05.440 --> 00:16:10.919
don't understand it. So with that in mind, do you

254
00:16:11.059 --> 00:16:13.490
think it's more so that when it comes to demonic

255
00:16:13.500 --> 00:16:16.230
hauntings or people who claim to have demonic hauntings or

256
00:16:16.269 --> 00:16:20.269
negative hauntings, it's more so their own personal, like their

257
00:16:20.330 --> 00:16:23.769
own body or energy interacting with an energy that.

258
00:16:24.450 --> 00:16:26.879
Is just completely....

259
00:16:26.840 --> 00:16:29.679
Different from their own is just so negative and so

260
00:16:29.779 --> 00:16:34.159
low that the vibrational pool, uh, push and pull is different.

261
00:16:34.179 --> 00:16:37.169
And that's what causes them to be so scared. And

262
00:16:37.190 --> 00:16:39.210
it's really not the entity trying to do anything.

263
00:16:39.230 --> 00:16:43.629
Oh, I think that people put off the natural energy

264
00:16:43.710 --> 00:16:46.700
all the time, whether it's up or down the grass

265
00:16:46.750 --> 00:16:50.279
or they're very, uh, you know, very friendly or happy.

266
00:16:51.019 --> 00:16:53.639
And I think that this, this energy that we put

267
00:16:53.759 --> 00:16:57.870
off is, uh, is appealing to certain entities. So if

268
00:16:57.909 --> 00:17:01.230
you are talking about a lower level, a lower vibrational entity,

269
00:17:01.409 --> 00:17:04.400
and it meets somebody who is putting off a lot

270
00:17:04.440 --> 00:17:08.119
of anger or fear, they're going to be attracted to

271
00:17:08.160 --> 00:17:10.119
that in the same way that a dog is attracted

272
00:17:10.180 --> 00:17:13.079
to a piece of steak. And they're going to zoom

273
00:17:13.119 --> 00:17:16.170
in on that. And by the same token, if you

274
00:17:16.210 --> 00:17:20.069
don't want these entities around you, if you could raise

275
00:17:20.109 --> 00:17:23.809
your vibrational level a little bit and think more positively

276
00:17:23.869 --> 00:17:27.180
and more lovingly, they generally will be repelled by that

277
00:17:27.259 --> 00:17:30.799
and will leave you alone. I have never really had

278
00:17:30.839 --> 00:17:34.559
to deal with negative energies because I try to keep

279
00:17:34.619 --> 00:17:38.799
a very positive, upbeat attitude when I go into these situations.

280
00:17:38.839 --> 00:17:42.440
And I think that only positive energies are going to

281
00:17:42.480 --> 00:17:45.119
be attracted to me. So I don't ever really worry

282
00:17:45.160 --> 00:17:47.750
about the negative. Okay.

283
00:17:48.630 --> 00:17:48.859
Thank you.

284
00:17:50.539 --> 00:17:55.900
So I have a question on the residual hauntings. I've

285
00:17:55.940 --> 00:17:58.460
come across this. I don't know if you have, but

286
00:17:58.500 --> 00:18:02.849
I've come across at least two times now where there's

287
00:18:02.880 --> 00:18:06.450
a residual haunting. We get like a name or something

288
00:18:06.470 --> 00:18:11.930
like that. And then come to find out the person

289
00:18:11.990 --> 00:18:16.009
that is named or we think is saying the name

290
00:18:16.069 --> 00:18:20.140
is actually still alive. So do you think that residual

291
00:18:20.160 --> 00:18:23.359
haunches can still be caused by people that are still

292
00:18:23.420 --> 00:18:24.079
living as well?

293
00:18:25.220 --> 00:18:27.589
Oh, okay. That's the living ghost theory. This is the

294
00:18:27.650 --> 00:18:32.190
idea that when someone is in great distress, emotional distress,

295
00:18:32.869 --> 00:18:37.450
that they may in fact be able to inadvertently manifest

296
00:18:37.470 --> 00:18:39.990
themselves in another place, a place that they feel safe.

297
00:18:40.589 --> 00:18:42.970
For example, you might have a pilot who's flying through

298
00:18:42.990 --> 00:18:46.369
a storm and he's terrified that he's going to get killed.

299
00:18:47.000 --> 00:18:51.079
And then half a world away, he suddenly appears in

300
00:18:51.099 --> 00:18:52.720
front of his family, in front of his home, in

301
00:18:52.740 --> 00:18:56.599
his home. And they see him quite clearly. And then

302
00:18:56.640 --> 00:19:00.619
he disappears. And then the pilot does survive his adventure.

303
00:19:01.279 --> 00:19:04.160
And he calls him and says, you know, I got

304
00:19:04.200 --> 00:19:05.960
through that. And he said, we saw you here. And

305
00:19:07.109 --> 00:19:09.609
there's been cases of this happening. They're very hard to

306
00:19:09.690 --> 00:19:13.210
document because, you know, nobody's ever expected anything like that.

307
00:19:14.130 --> 00:19:17.190
But there are cases of people who have actually witnessed

308
00:19:17.289 --> 00:19:20.119
people who were in distress, even though they weren't dead.

309
00:19:20.430 --> 00:19:23.220
So I don't know what's going on in the spiritual world,

310
00:19:23.259 --> 00:19:24.740
but I would love to find out.

311
00:19:26.579 --> 00:19:31.480
That kind of gets my mind going on the interstellar storyline,

312
00:19:31.660 --> 00:19:35.349
the movie Interstellar, and this whole idea of various dimensions

313
00:19:35.640 --> 00:19:39.529
and time slips. I mean, it is possible, though, then,

314
00:19:39.869 --> 00:19:44.470
despite this person being in distress, that this other version

315
00:19:44.490 --> 00:19:46.460
of him or this original thing that appears to family

316
00:19:46.500 --> 00:19:49.910
members may be slipping through another timeline in which we'll

317
00:19:49.930 --> 00:19:53.619
be he did pass away. And now we're, I don't know,

318
00:19:53.660 --> 00:19:55.880
we were treading tight ropes here, but you know, it's,

319
00:19:56.319 --> 00:19:58.440
it's an interesting thing. Cause I, you know, I think

320
00:19:58.480 --> 00:20:00.160
back to like, and I know it's a movie, but

321
00:20:00.200 --> 00:20:03.490
interstellar where it's in the beginning of the film, the

322
00:20:03.690 --> 00:20:07.319
middle of the film, there's this clock that's, ticking a watch.

323
00:20:07.400 --> 00:20:10.079
It's just ticking, ticking, ticking. It's Ashley Temple Moore's code.

324
00:20:11.519 --> 00:20:17.000
And we find out later in the film that Matthew

325
00:20:17.019 --> 00:20:21.079
McConaughey's character, he's in the fifth dimension and he's pulling

326
00:20:21.140 --> 00:20:24.960
little lines, little, what would seem to be like strings

327
00:20:25.529 --> 00:20:29.269
that are causing this thing to tick in a weird fashion,

328
00:20:29.369 --> 00:20:34.450
which is giving the past answers, both that he's alive,

329
00:20:34.490 --> 00:20:38.190
but also how to create this new world to save themselves.

330
00:20:38.990 --> 00:20:42.190
So with that idea and just this whole conversation about

331
00:20:42.690 --> 00:20:46.210
time and dimensions, is there, do you think, a possibility,

332
00:20:46.230 --> 00:20:48.490
just in your own opinion, that this could be a

333
00:20:48.539 --> 00:20:51.039
time slip of some sort and this is some other

334
00:20:51.079 --> 00:20:53.819
completely different version of him from another timeline or from

335
00:20:53.839 --> 00:20:57.279
a person who's coming through at these moments, despite the

336
00:20:57.319 --> 00:20:58.140
fact that they're alive?

337
00:20:59.380 --> 00:20:59.579
Right.

338
00:20:59.619 --> 00:21:02.319
Well, there's a belief out there in the multiverse that

339
00:21:02.839 --> 00:21:06.420
where there is an infinite number of possibilities that can

340
00:21:06.460 --> 00:21:09.420
happen to you at any given moment. And each one

341
00:21:09.480 --> 00:21:12.880
is played out. So the one idea is that you

342
00:21:12.920 --> 00:21:17.099
are actually moving into one of these alternate timelines, at

343
00:21:17.119 --> 00:21:21.440
least briefly, and just playing out a role in that

344
00:21:21.480 --> 00:21:24.990
timeline that won't exist in the other timeline. The other

345
00:21:25.230 --> 00:21:27.390
thing to remember is that when you get on the

346
00:21:27.470 --> 00:21:32.140
other side, I don't believe time is an element. I

347
00:21:32.140 --> 00:21:35.900
think that time, it's basically, it's not that it's timeless

348
00:21:35.960 --> 00:21:39.160
or eternal. It's just that there's no time at all.

349
00:21:39.200 --> 00:21:42.829
There's no clock on the wall, so to speak. So

350
00:21:42.869 --> 00:21:45.190
you can move just as easily into the past or

351
00:21:45.230 --> 00:21:49.150
into the future as into the present. And so that's

352
00:21:49.190 --> 00:21:53.349
just the way I look at it. And some physicists

353
00:21:53.369 --> 00:21:54.720
will come on here and tell you I'm full of it.

354
00:21:58.150 --> 00:21:59.579
The wonder of opinions, huh? Yeah.

355
00:22:01.890 --> 00:22:04.089
Everybody has at least three, right, for every question.

356
00:22:04.509 --> 00:22:12.130
Yeah. Have you ever been, like, thoroughly, like....

357
00:22:12.730 --> 00:22:14.769
What's the term I'm trying to come up with?

358
00:22:18.990 --> 00:22:21.990
Pushed to your limits as far as somebody coming back

359
00:22:22.039 --> 00:22:26.579
at you and, like, questioning everything that you're giving answers to?

360
00:22:28.140 --> 00:22:31.180
Well, no, I really don't interact with people who are just...

361
00:22:31.869 --> 00:22:34.549
pure debunkers. You know, if they, if they don't want

362
00:22:34.589 --> 00:22:36.680
to believe that's fine, I have no problem with that.

363
00:22:37.359 --> 00:22:39.259
So someone says, I don't believe in ghosts. I don't

364
00:22:39.299 --> 00:22:43.400
try to convince them otherwise. So I don't really get

365
00:22:43.440 --> 00:22:45.640
a lot of pushback because most of the people I

366
00:22:45.680 --> 00:22:47.650
talk to about this stuff are very open to it.

367
00:22:48.349 --> 00:22:51.130
You tell somebody you write books on the paranormal, they'll

368
00:22:51.170 --> 00:22:54.569
either change the subject or they think you're crazy and

369
00:22:54.589 --> 00:22:56.809
then they'll change the subject or they'll want to know more.

370
00:22:56.849 --> 00:22:59.950
They have their own stories. They want to know why

371
00:22:59.990 --> 00:23:03.259
they saw their grandma or Yeah. So, so I don't

372
00:23:03.279 --> 00:23:05.369
really get a lot of pushback from people. I think

373
00:23:05.420 --> 00:23:07.890
most people who don't believe in the paranormal are just

374
00:23:07.910 --> 00:23:11.390
to basically ignore it. To me, if someone is fighting

375
00:23:11.450 --> 00:23:14.130
it tooth and nail, that tells me that they're looking

376
00:23:14.170 --> 00:23:17.730
for answers. They're not really, you know, they're not really

377
00:23:18.150 --> 00:23:20.269
not believing it. They just want to have it proven

378
00:23:20.309 --> 00:23:20.549
to them.

379
00:23:20.930 --> 00:23:21.190
Right.

380
00:23:24.049 --> 00:23:28.890
So now has there ever been a paranormal theory, that

381
00:23:28.950 --> 00:23:33.490
you initially dismissed, but then eventually became more open to

382
00:23:33.730 --> 00:23:36.470
and maybe even accepted into your own doctrine of beliefs?

383
00:23:37.410 --> 00:23:41.269
Well, actually, yeah. The whole concept of spirit guides. For

384
00:23:41.589 --> 00:23:44.750
quite a while, I just thought spirit guides were really

385
00:23:44.789 --> 00:23:50.009
just your own imagination. Maybe you're subconscious working with you.

386
00:23:50.150 --> 00:23:53.490
But as I've worked with people who talk about having

387
00:23:53.519 --> 00:23:56.339
spirit guides, and as I look into it in my

388
00:23:56.400 --> 00:23:59.630
own life, I do get the sense that there are

389
00:23:59.710 --> 00:24:03.089
external entities out there that will help us if we

390
00:24:03.130 --> 00:24:05.789
are open to them. And it got to the point

391
00:24:05.869 --> 00:24:08.319
where I went from not believing in spirit guides to

392
00:24:08.390 --> 00:24:12.220
actually teaching a class on how to contact your spirit guides.

393
00:24:13.559 --> 00:24:16.700
So I can change my mind any time.

394
00:24:16.880 --> 00:24:17.960
It's a big 180 there.

395
00:24:17.980 --> 00:24:21.839
Oh, that's not the least of them.

396
00:24:24.809 --> 00:24:26.170
Has doing this research.

397
00:24:28.480 --> 00:24:31.240
Made you question any religious beliefs that you've had?

398
00:24:32.529 --> 00:24:36.210
Oh, absolutely. I came out of an evangelical Christian background many,

399
00:24:36.250 --> 00:24:38.970
many years ago. And about 25 years ago, I started

400
00:24:39.009 --> 00:24:43.309
exploring other avenues. So as a result, I don't really

401
00:24:43.349 --> 00:24:46.690
believe in a heaven or a hell or a final

402
00:24:46.779 --> 00:24:49.500
judgment or any of these things. I believe that when

403
00:24:49.539 --> 00:24:52.779
we go to the other side, we kind of experience

404
00:24:52.799 --> 00:24:54.759
the energy that we died in. So if you died

405
00:24:54.819 --> 00:24:58.269
in heaven, surrounded by your family and in a lot

406
00:24:58.289 --> 00:25:00.710
of love and light, that's what you're going to experience.

407
00:25:00.769 --> 00:25:03.289
And I think if you die in anger and rage,

408
00:25:03.710 --> 00:25:05.869
then that's the energy you're going to find yourself stuck in.

409
00:25:06.710 --> 00:25:09.299
So I guess what I'm saying is I don't really

410
00:25:09.359 --> 00:25:12.460
believe there's an external entity out there that's judging us

411
00:25:12.559 --> 00:25:14.960
and sending us to heaven or hell based on these things,

412
00:25:15.559 --> 00:25:19.339
but that we create our own, uh, our own reality

413
00:25:19.740 --> 00:25:23.109
on the other side. And that, uh, And that can

414
00:25:23.130 --> 00:25:25.630
be just as bad because some people can create a

415
00:25:25.670 --> 00:25:27.190
hell for themselves if they're not careful.

416
00:25:27.650 --> 00:25:27.930
Yeah.

417
00:25:28.710 --> 00:25:28.930
Yeah.

418
00:25:29.950 --> 00:25:32.049
Well, I was about to say on that note, but

419
00:25:32.069 --> 00:25:35.549
that kind of was a weird segment.

420
00:25:35.569 --> 00:25:39.420
Going into our sponsor. Speaking of hell, going into our sponsor.

421
00:25:39.740 --> 00:25:42.720
It's not a good thing.

422
00:25:42.740 --> 00:25:44.140
Anyway, we're back.

423
00:25:44.160 --> 00:25:44.440
Sorry.

424
00:25:46.119 --> 00:25:49.799

433
00:26:33.700 --> 00:26:39.359
All right, folks. Welcome back to Paratroop Reborn. Something that

434
00:26:40.119 --> 00:26:45.119
we were discussing before the break is religious beliefs. But

435
00:26:45.539 --> 00:26:49.960
I think one thing that we haven't really touched base

436
00:26:50.279 --> 00:26:53.599
on is We've touched base on it, but we haven't

437
00:26:53.619 --> 00:26:56.380
gone deep into it, is the skepticism of other people.

438
00:26:57.259 --> 00:27:02.339
What's something commonly accepted in paranormal circles that you're much

439
00:27:02.420 --> 00:27:04.519
more skeptical about yourself?

440
00:27:06.099 --> 00:27:11.289
I don't really understand how tarot works or crystals, these

441
00:27:11.329 --> 00:27:15.369
sort of external elements. I've watched tarot readers, and I

442
00:27:16.170 --> 00:27:20.539
really am not impressed necessarily. with most of what they

443
00:27:20.579 --> 00:27:22.880
tell me. A lot of it's common sense. Some of

444
00:27:22.940 --> 00:27:28.140
it is, it just seems to really have no bearing

445
00:27:28.160 --> 00:27:31.240
on anything. Crystals, again, now I'm open to the possibility

446
00:27:31.299 --> 00:27:35.140
that we need these things to focus our spiritual energy.

447
00:27:35.799 --> 00:27:39.190
So I can understand that perspective, but I'm not really

448
00:27:39.250 --> 00:27:47.069
certain how these different elements really work together. Again, horoscopes too, numerology,

449
00:27:47.190 --> 00:27:49.230
all of these things to me sound a little bit,

450
00:27:50.339 --> 00:27:54.829
too random to make sense. But again, if someone can

451
00:27:54.990 --> 00:27:57.930
show me how they work and that it works, I'm

452
00:27:57.990 --> 00:27:58.440
open to it.

453
00:28:00.190 --> 00:28:03.589
I think that's the one problem with tarot. I should

454
00:28:03.630 --> 00:28:10.200
say multiple things in that kind of field is unfortunately

455
00:28:10.279 --> 00:28:15.259
part of it is up to interpretation by whoever's reading it.

456
00:28:17.680 --> 00:28:21.940
I've never... questioned the answer i'm getting most of the

457
00:28:21.980 --> 00:28:26.380
time but um there are times where you'll get the

458
00:28:26.400 --> 00:28:29.410
same answer from multiple people and there will be times

459
00:28:29.450 --> 00:28:33.329
that you get different answers for the same question um

460
00:28:34.910 --> 00:28:38.990
but the same can be said about listening to evps

461
00:28:39.490 --> 00:28:43.230
unless you have this class a that everybody hears the

462
00:28:43.279 --> 00:28:48.569
clearest day um but then you're, you're listening to these

463
00:28:48.670 --> 00:28:53.430
lower grade ones and five people have five different things

464
00:28:53.470 --> 00:28:54.019
that they heard.

465
00:28:54.039 --> 00:28:56.299
Yeah.

466
00:28:56.339 --> 00:28:59.940
The, the, you know, you remember everything that you look at,

467
00:29:00.160 --> 00:29:01.700
all the evidence you're looking at is going to be

468
00:29:01.740 --> 00:29:04.869
interpreted through your filter. So you already have, you come

469
00:29:04.900 --> 00:29:07.670
into it already with some preconceived notions of what's going on.

470
00:29:08.150 --> 00:29:10.089
So if you don't believe in EVPs, you're probably not

471
00:29:10.109 --> 00:29:12.210
going to hear it say, I'm going to murder you.

472
00:29:12.430 --> 00:29:14.430
You know, it's not going to, it's not going to

473
00:29:14.450 --> 00:29:18.740
make it out. However, Um, that's why it's, you gotta

474
00:29:18.759 --> 00:29:20.980
be so careful with this stuff because there is such

475
00:29:21.019 --> 00:29:24.349
a thing as matrixing where someone says, Hey, it said,

476
00:29:24.809 --> 00:29:26.809
get out. You hear it. And then all of a

477
00:29:26.809 --> 00:29:28.890
sudden you hear it because they told you that's what

478
00:29:28.910 --> 00:29:29.769
you're supposed to hear.

479
00:29:30.309 --> 00:29:30.549
Right.

480
00:29:30.569 --> 00:29:32.650
So you have to be really careful about that. Same

481
00:29:32.670 --> 00:29:36.289
thing with photographs. You can get, some kind of strange

482
00:29:36.750 --> 00:29:40.950
shape in the patterns, grays and blacks, and say, hey, look,

483
00:29:40.970 --> 00:29:43.690
that's the face of my grandma. And once they point

484
00:29:43.710 --> 00:29:46.589
it out to you, that's all you can see. So

485
00:29:46.670 --> 00:29:50.309
you always have to approach anything like that very carefully,

486
00:29:51.329 --> 00:29:53.710
making sure that you understand that I'm looking at this

487
00:29:53.809 --> 00:29:58.059
through my lens, and my lens may not agree with

488
00:29:58.079 --> 00:30:01.599
your lens. The only problem with that is that people

489
00:30:01.640 --> 00:30:05.180
can get very upset if you don't agree with their interpretation.

490
00:30:05.200 --> 00:30:06.359
Oh, yeah.

491
00:30:06.779 --> 00:30:09.119
So you've got to be very careful when you tell them,

492
00:30:09.819 --> 00:30:13.140
I'm sorry, I'm not seeing Grandma in the tree. Because

493
00:30:13.160 --> 00:30:14.160
they go, oh, yeah, she's there.

494
00:30:14.180 --> 00:30:18.369
Eric was telling you a story before we got on,

495
00:30:18.549 --> 00:30:22.630
and he didn't get to the part where he had

496
00:30:22.670 --> 00:30:26.369
a similar thing where people were lashing back at him

497
00:30:26.390 --> 00:30:26.849
about it.

498
00:30:26.869 --> 00:30:29.579
Oh, yeah. About the... Oh, oh, oh.

499
00:30:29.640 --> 00:30:29.779
Yeah.

500
00:30:30.339 --> 00:30:34.259
I had to think about it. Yeah. That's me, you know?

501
00:30:34.400 --> 00:30:35.240
I'm trying to.

502
00:30:35.259 --> 00:30:35.420
I go to.

503
00:30:35.759 --> 00:30:37.220
So I had a point to the whole Beast of

504
00:30:37.240 --> 00:30:41.400
Gravedown story before the show, for those of you who don't.

505
00:30:41.279 --> 00:30:45.039
Know, I was telling him about... You guys know what

506
00:30:45.079 --> 00:30:46.039
the Beast of Gravedown is.

507
00:30:48.119 --> 00:30:51.349
And there was a point to that story, by the way,

508
00:30:51.869 --> 00:30:53.849
and I just got off track telling the story.

509
00:30:53.869 --> 00:30:55.130
And ran out of time.

510
00:30:55.269 --> 00:30:55.970
And ran out of time.

511
00:30:55.990 --> 00:30:56.730
But.51200:30:57.720 --> 00:30:59.759

Based on that story that I was telling you earlier51300:31:00.319 --> 00:31:03.460

before the show, it was that I had mentioned about51400:31:03.480 --> 00:31:06.299

this documentary that it was just a hyena and I51500:31:06.339 --> 00:31:10.680

got backlash for it. People were upset that I had51600:31:11.000 --> 00:31:14.509

spoiled some sort of information or had a different opinion51700:31:15.369 --> 00:31:18.789

based on research from what they had. And it's common51800:31:18.809 --> 00:31:21.970

to see that in the paranormal. When someone's so invested51900:31:22.009 --> 00:31:25.250

in a werewolf or so invested in a Bigfoot case52000:31:25.329 --> 00:31:27.880

or in a a haunting of some sort, as soon52100:31:27.900 --> 00:31:33.240

as you provide evidence that opposes that, it's like the52200:31:33.299 --> 00:31:37.660

world freezes over. It's like, wait, no, no, you're wrong.52300:31:37.740 --> 00:31:39.210

This is the reason and blah, blah, blah. It's like52400:31:39.230 --> 00:31:43.769

despite all the facts. Some people are so focused in52500:31:43.809 --> 00:31:47.029

holding onto their belief that they refuse to acknowledge the52600:31:47.109 --> 00:31:49.609

facts that oppose those things or at least even consider52700:31:49.650 --> 00:31:53.089

them before just throwing them under the rug and walking away.52800:31:53.519 --> 00:31:55.059

One thing you got to remember when you're dealing with52900:31:55.099 --> 00:32:00.049

ghosts is often you're dealing with someone's loved one that53000:32:00.089 --> 00:32:03.150

has passed. So if they're convinced that their grandma was53100:32:03.210 --> 00:32:07.390

in the picture, you say, no, it's not. It's just matrixing.53200:32:08.029 --> 00:32:11.089

That's really kind of taking away some of their hope.53300:32:11.410 --> 00:32:11.690

Yeah.53400:32:12.430 --> 00:32:14.410

They want to believe the grandma's on the other side53500:32:14.450 --> 00:32:17.190

and she's okay and everything's fine and she showed up53600:32:17.230 --> 00:32:21.940

for him. And it can be really devastating sometimes. Have53700:32:22.019 --> 00:32:25.480

somebody come who's a purported expert and say, no, it's53800:32:25.559 --> 00:32:29.000

not anything you think it is. Because it's a joy53900:32:29.039 --> 00:32:31.279

back to ground zero and you have to start all54000:32:31.299 --> 00:32:32.460

over again.54100:32:33.269 --> 00:32:36.029

Well, I think that's something.54200:32:37.109 --> 00:32:38.650

That's a struggle for some people.54300:32:38.670 --> 00:32:40.829

They come in as this expert and they want to54400:32:40.849 --> 00:32:44.349

immediately just share their opinion and what they believe without54500:32:44.430 --> 00:32:48.589

taking the time to be human and realizing what that54600:32:48.650 --> 00:32:51.960

person may be experiencing too. You know, it's like, yeah,54700:32:51.980 --> 00:32:53.460

it's a tight rope because you have to wonder, like,54800:32:53.539 --> 00:32:56.059

are they worried? Are they concerned that their grandma in54900:32:56.079 --> 00:32:57.940

that picture means they're not in heaven or she's not55000:32:57.960 --> 00:33:01.369

in heaven? Or does it mean that she's just there visiting?55100:33:01.509 --> 00:33:03.269

Or does it mean, you know, what does it mean?55200:33:03.730 --> 00:33:04.849

And those are a lot of things I think as55300:33:04.910 --> 00:33:08.369

paranormal investigators, when you're working with somebody, you have to55400:33:08.390 --> 00:33:12.569

really consider those things and tread lightly, even if you55500:33:12.589 --> 00:33:15.150

have to lie a little bit. You know, depending on,55600:33:15.710 --> 00:33:17.930

at least that's my belief. Like sometimes there's, there's a55700:33:17.930 --> 00:33:19.910

thing about a white lie. If you don't fully believe55800:33:19.950 --> 00:33:22.359

that that person is there, but you could see it55900:33:22.430 --> 00:33:23.740

in their eyes and you will see it in their56000:33:23.799 --> 00:33:26.119

eyes if they want, if they want them to be there.56100:33:26.640 --> 00:33:29.140

There's no harm in saying, you know what? I think56200:33:29.160 --> 00:33:30.299

that is your grandma in that picture.56300:33:31.920 --> 00:33:33.940

I usually just tell them, you know, I'm not saying56400:33:34.019 --> 00:33:36.990

it's not your grandma. I'm just saying my opinions just56500:33:37.009 --> 00:33:38.710

looks like matrixing, but it could be.56600:33:38.730 --> 00:33:40.529

I mean, that's, and that's valid.56700:33:40.849 --> 00:33:40.990

Yeah.56800:33:41.029 --> 00:33:41.849

That's completely valid.56900:33:42.150 --> 00:33:43.849

You also can remember the other side of the story57000:33:44.069 --> 00:33:48.230

is that you can also bring comfort to a person57100:33:48.269 --> 00:33:52.069

by disallowing what they've shown you. In other words, they're scared.57200:33:52.349 --> 00:33:55.549

They think there's a ghost in their house. You say, no,57300:33:55.609 --> 00:33:57.539

I think this is what this is. It's just a57400:33:57.579 --> 00:34:00.980

camera anomaly or whatever. And they can actually be very relieved.57500:34:01.660 --> 00:34:01.920

Right.57600:34:02.059 --> 00:34:04.279

Now, all of a sudden, they thought they were being haunted.57700:34:04.339 --> 00:34:06.259

And now they're like, oh, my God, I thought it57800:34:06.279 --> 00:34:06.779

was a ghost.57900:34:07.140 --> 00:34:07.319

Right.58000:34:07.960 --> 00:34:09.820

Most people are really afraid of ghosts.58100:34:09.840 --> 00:34:10.460

Mm-hmm.58200:34:11.550 --> 00:34:15.090

Yeah. Even where they're terrified of them. Hollywood and the58300:34:15.150 --> 00:34:19.860

way they portrayed the paranormal as this very dangerous sort58400:34:19.880 --> 00:34:20.400

of world.58500:34:20.599 --> 00:34:20.800

Yeah.58600:34:21.159 --> 00:34:21.719

Right.58700:34:21.780 --> 00:34:24.500

So, and Halloween doesn't help, you know, with scale.58800:34:24.519 --> 00:34:25.849

Oh, yeah. Definitely.58900:34:26.030 --> 00:34:31.059

That's... I mean, we definitely see a big jump in59000:34:31.460 --> 00:34:35.460

both viewership, but also in people's opinions right around Halloween time.59100:34:35.739 --> 00:34:37.300

People do start getting scared.59200:34:37.320 --> 00:34:39.440

They worry about.59300:34:39.639 --> 00:34:41.409

Even just the word Samhain. They're like, what does that mean?59400:34:41.530 --> 00:34:44.489

It's just Halloween, guys. That's all. Are you sure? You59500:34:44.630 --> 00:34:45.710

didn't just cast a spell?59600:34:46.429 --> 00:34:46.630

No.59700:34:48.110 --> 00:34:51.380

But also, going off of what you just said, it's59800:34:51.960 --> 00:34:54.300

identical to what you said at the beginning of the show,59900:34:54.500 --> 00:35:01.469

where you personally don't encounter many or any darker entities60000:35:01.630 --> 00:35:05.389

or negative entities because you keep yourself.60100:35:05.050 --> 00:35:06.690

In high spirits, in a good place.60200:35:07.269 --> 00:35:10.420

And these people who you give comfort to, if they're scared,60300:35:10.539 --> 00:35:12.880

and then all of a sudden you say, oh, that's60400:35:12.920 --> 00:35:17.440

not a ghost. And suddenly their energy changes. Even if60500:35:17.460 --> 00:35:19.659

there is a ghost, they no longer empower it through60600:35:19.679 --> 00:35:21.239

their own energy and thought forms.60700:35:22.449 --> 00:35:25.210

It loses traction. It loses power.60800:35:25.860 --> 00:35:28.780

And suddenly their mind shifts and that thing just disappears.60900:35:29.659 --> 00:35:32.469

The other thing that sometimes happens, which is interesting, is61000:35:32.550 --> 00:35:35.389

that it will confirm to somebody what they've already known,61100:35:35.610 --> 00:35:39.650

that there's a key, and it emboldens them to try61200:35:39.690 --> 00:35:43.590

to contact it. Once you confirm that, yeah, you have61300:35:43.650 --> 00:35:47.889

something going on here, that sometimes they will suck it61400:35:47.969 --> 00:35:49.949

up and say, I think I'm going to see if61500:35:50.030 --> 00:35:52.210

I can contact this thing.61600:35:52.429 --> 00:35:52.630

Yeah.61700:35:53.099 --> 00:35:55.519

And those people are actually, they're kind of my heroes61800:35:55.619 --> 00:35:58.980

because it takes a lot of courage to do that.61900:35:59.400 --> 00:36:03.739

And sometimes they get remarkable results. Sometimes nothing much happens.62000:36:03.800 --> 00:36:06.449

But I still think it's kind of interesting the different62100:36:06.489 --> 00:36:12.309

reactions you get to doing some objective observations.62200:36:12.730 --> 00:36:12.969

Yeah.62300:36:13.210 --> 00:36:13.849

No, for sure.62400:36:13.909 --> 00:36:16.550

You know, I had someone in, there's another Facebook group62500:36:17.730 --> 00:36:22.030

that I'm in, aside from our show, in which somebody had.62600:36:21.659 --> 00:36:22.300

Posed the questions.62700:36:24.320 --> 00:36:29.099

She was interested in Pilates, but heard so much about62800:36:29.219 --> 00:36:30.920

opening doors, doing Pilates.62900:36:31.099 --> 00:36:33.380

And that's, that's the term that she used open doors.63000:36:34.059 --> 00:36:34.619

What that means.63100:36:34.880 --> 00:36:37.800

I'm, you know, I have my thoughts of what that63200:36:37.840 --> 00:36:42.369

probably means. But anyway, opening doors. So she was thinking63300:36:42.409 --> 00:36:46.829

maybe she'll do, I'm sorry, yoga. So she'll do Pilates63400:36:47.030 --> 00:36:49.110

instead of yoga. It was yoga that would open doors.63500:36:49.630 --> 00:36:52.530

should do Pilates maybe, unless anyone thinks that would open63600:36:52.550 --> 00:36:55.409

doors too. And it's just, you know, and obviously there63700:36:55.429 --> 00:36:57.739

are all these people chiming in, like, you know, there63800:36:57.760 --> 00:37:00.260

are Christians saying, oh, it's of the devil. And yeah,63900:37:00.300 --> 00:37:03.250

you can't do Pilates. You can't do any of it.64000:37:03.260 --> 00:37:06.000

You know, you can't do yoga. You can't do any64100:37:06.019 --> 00:37:08.320

sort of meditation, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then64200:37:08.340 --> 00:37:10.639

you have the others who come in and say, oh,64300:37:10.699 --> 00:37:16.320

there's absolutely zero harm whatsoever. But then it's kind of like,64400:37:17.690 --> 00:37:19.449

where do you leave this person? You know, cause they're64500:37:19.469 --> 00:37:21.469

still stuck in the middle here. Cause they're like, okay,64600:37:21.489 --> 00:37:23.329

well half of the people are saying it's okay. The64700:37:23.369 --> 00:37:25.949

other half are saying it's not, I'm still in the64800:37:25.969 --> 00:37:29.340

same place, you know? And it still comes back to you.64900:37:29.349 --> 00:37:31.539

Like I, you know, I was, I am a born65000:37:31.559 --> 00:37:34.119

again Christian and I still do Pilates.65100:37:34.219 --> 00:37:35.039

I still do yoga.65200:37:35.059 --> 00:37:39.059

I don't follow the whole semantics of it all, you know?65300:37:40.239 --> 00:37:42.139

But it's a good workout. It's good for your body.65400:37:42.159 --> 00:37:44.050

It's good for your mind. And I think that's where65500:37:44.070 --> 00:37:46.610

a lot of people start to, to differentiate these and say,65600:37:46.630 --> 00:37:48.849

they think, Oh, I want to exercise, but what if65700:37:48.869 --> 00:37:50.889

it opens the door to the spiritual realm because I'm65800:37:50.929 --> 00:37:54.510

exercising and it's like, well, it's all dependent on how65900:37:54.610 --> 00:37:57.010

your beliefs, you know, and the energy you put into that.66000:37:57.449 --> 00:38:00.340

Well, I've always believed that if, if something doesn't feel66100:38:00.400 --> 00:38:03.219

right to you, just don't do it. If you start66200:38:03.260 --> 00:38:06.639

meditating and you start feeling like this is something's going66300:38:06.719 --> 00:38:11.559

on here, maybe stop it. You know, uh, I don't66400:38:11.579 --> 00:38:14.639

think there's any inherent danger in any of those things, honestly.66500:38:15.380 --> 00:38:18.539

But I do believe that you can easily work yourself66600:38:18.639 --> 00:38:22.840

into a frame of mind where you are suddenly thinking, hey,66700:38:22.969 --> 00:38:27.409

I'm being watched. There's something out here. Have you ever66800:38:27.489 --> 00:38:28.849

walked through the woods at night?66900:38:30.090 --> 00:38:30.369

Oh, yeah.67000:38:30.929 --> 00:38:33.969

You know Bigfoot's out there. I mean, you're sure of67100:38:34.030 --> 00:38:35.699

it until you get back in your house. Now all67200:38:35.719 --> 00:38:36.920

of a sudden Bigfoot went away.67300:38:37.360 --> 00:38:38.639

Yeah, right. Suffering.67400:38:40.179 --> 00:38:41.750

So that's kind of the same way it is with67500:38:41.789 --> 00:38:45.170

the spiritual realm. It's like with the Ouija boards. We'll67600:38:45.190 --> 00:38:47.369

say don't mess with the Ouija board because you might67700:38:47.409 --> 00:38:51.909

bring something in. And I mean, that's always a possibility,67800:38:52.150 --> 00:38:56.969

I suppose. But generally, I think that that's more rare67900:38:57.730 --> 00:39:00.349

than it is common. It has to be the right68000:39:00.409 --> 00:39:04.510

kind of mindset. You can use a Ouija board if68100:39:04.550 --> 00:39:06.679

you have a positive mindset and you really want to68200:39:06.719 --> 00:39:09.510

try to contact something in a positive manner. I think68300:39:09.530 --> 00:39:11.820

the Ouija board will work. I also think if you're68400:39:11.840 --> 00:39:15.159

just fooling around with it and you're usually frightened, you68500:39:15.179 --> 00:39:18.860

could invite something in. So, you know, let the buyer beware.68600:39:18.900 --> 00:39:20.469

If you're going to use these things, just make sure68700:39:20.489 --> 00:39:22.000

you know what you're doing and why you're doing it.68800:39:22.570 --> 00:39:22.809

Right.68900:39:23.630 --> 00:39:23.989

For sure.69000:39:24.010 --> 00:39:27.969

Well, so here's my question to you, and you might69100:39:27.989 --> 00:39:32.090

have already answered this. you you mentioned you know a69200:39:32.139 --> 00:39:35.400

lot of what information people get is from fiction um69300:39:36.340 --> 00:39:40.460

and that they think the paranormal is inherently dangerous is69400:39:40.500 --> 00:39:44.099

there anything in your mind that is dangerous to do69500:39:44.199 --> 00:39:48.320

when it comes to the paranormal i do believe that people.69600:39:48.119 --> 00:39:51.789

Can get obsessed with it And there is such a thing,69700:39:51.829 --> 00:39:56.050

I think, as spirits will attach sometimes to people. They69800:39:56.090 --> 00:39:58.710

like their energy, and they might follow them around, things69900:39:58.750 --> 00:40:02.610

like that. So you do have to be careful. The70000:40:02.809 --> 00:40:05.809

danger really is not physical as much as it is70100:40:05.929 --> 00:40:11.349

maybe psychological or emotional. If you believe you're being constantly70200:40:12.230 --> 00:40:16.070

pursued by demons, that is going to affect your life70300:40:16.150 --> 00:40:20.829

in very negative ways, whether it's true or not. So70400:40:20.929 --> 00:40:24.550

your attitude about these things is very important in terms70500:40:24.590 --> 00:40:27.289

of living your life in a reasonable manner without having70600:40:27.309 --> 00:40:29.489

to worry about all these energies out there trying to70700:40:29.530 --> 00:40:29.889

get you.70800:40:30.570 --> 00:40:30.809

Right.70900:40:32.710 --> 00:40:36.199

I feel like we see that a lot, especially with71000:40:36.219 --> 00:40:40.760

the music. I think of Robert Johnson, who wrote a71100:40:40.860 --> 00:40:43.800

lot of his music based on making a deal with71200:40:43.820 --> 00:40:47.460

the devil. And he eventually got a young age, at71300:40:47.500 --> 00:40:51.320

a young age, I don't know if you're familiar with71400:40:51.360 --> 00:40:55.099

Robert Johnson, but he was a blues player who supposedly71500:40:55.119 --> 00:40:57.099

sold his soul to the devil to become a very71600:40:57.280 --> 00:41:02.039

good guitarist and blues musician. And eventually started writing about71700:41:02.059 --> 00:41:05.300

Hellhound on my Trail or Devil at the Crossroads and71800:41:05.320 --> 00:41:08.010

things like that. And eventually he passed away. And a71900:41:08.050 --> 00:41:10.289

lot of people speculate that it was the devil coming72000:41:10.329 --> 00:41:12.510

for his soul when his time was up. He was72100:41:12.570 --> 00:41:16.230

offered a certain amount of time to get famous. And72200:41:16.269 --> 00:41:20.010

then once time was up, that was it. And it's72300:41:20.050 --> 00:41:23.349

interesting because I see and I've heard stories of people72400:41:23.429 --> 00:41:25.010

who say, oh, I feel like I'm going to die72500:41:25.030 --> 00:41:27.030

at a young age or I feel like this is72600:41:27.050 --> 00:41:28.530

going to happen or that's going to happen. And it's72700:41:28.550 --> 00:41:32.860

almost as if they speak it into existence in many cases.72800:41:33.880 --> 00:41:38.199

Do you think, whether it's energy projection or just speaking,72900:41:38.320 --> 00:41:40.739

like what are your thoughts on the idea of speaking73000:41:40.780 --> 00:41:45.019

things into existence, maybe outside of the spiritual realm a73100:41:45.039 --> 00:41:45.539

little bit here?73200:41:45.559 --> 00:41:46.820

Yeah.73300:41:47.619 --> 00:41:50.210

I have kind of mixed feelings about, it's called manifestation.73400:41:50.269 --> 00:41:50.449

Yeah.73500:41:50.610 --> 00:41:54.590

You're basically manifesting things in your life. I do think73600:41:54.650 --> 00:41:59.510

that manifestation is very close to intention. So if your73700:41:59.550 --> 00:42:03.409

intention is to become an author and you pursue that,73800:42:04.409 --> 00:42:09.429

have you manifested success or did you just simply do73900:42:09.449 --> 00:42:12.360

the work and success came as a result of it?74000:42:12.949 --> 00:42:14.829

So when you're talking about manifestation, you got to be74100:42:14.909 --> 00:42:18.480

kind of clear that I don't believe I could make74200:42:18.500 --> 00:42:23.900

a Corvette appear in my driveway tomorrow morning through manifestation.74300:42:23.920 --> 00:42:27.230

I just don't believe that happens. But I do believe74400:42:27.250 --> 00:42:30.289

you can manifest kind of the direction of your life.74500:42:31.570 --> 00:42:34.389

If you set a goal for yourself and you pursue it,74600:42:34.590 --> 00:42:36.969

or if you're, let's say you want to make friends74700:42:37.989 --> 00:42:40.449

and you go out there and with that intention in mind,74800:42:40.510 --> 00:42:42.909

and you just be friendly to people, you're going to74900:42:42.949 --> 00:42:47.460

manifest friends. I don't think there's anything necessarily spooky about that,75000:42:48.099 --> 00:42:51.119

but I think it's helpful if you believe in manifestation75100:42:51.699 --> 00:42:55.059

that you have the confidence to go out and try75200:42:55.119 --> 00:42:59.139

these things because you're believing you're manifesting something and now75300:42:59.179 --> 00:43:03.690

you're actually going out and experiencing it. So it's kind75400:43:03.710 --> 00:43:06.130

of like one hand washes the other. The more you believe,75500:43:06.650 --> 00:43:09.250

the more likely it is to be. Yeah.75600:43:09.730 --> 00:43:13.070

We see that a lot in spiritualism, whether it's prayer75700:43:13.409 --> 00:43:19.750

or if it's... casting spells or whatever. It's putting intentions75800:43:20.090 --> 00:43:23.170

into the space. People always say that if you're going75900:43:23.210 --> 00:43:25.690

to pray about something, if you're going to set an intention,76000:43:26.289 --> 00:43:27.670

you can't just set it and let it go. You76100:43:28.030 --> 00:43:32.360

actually have to work toward that intention. There's more work76200:43:32.400 --> 00:43:35.019

to do. And I've always questioned that too. It's like, well,76300:43:35.039 --> 00:43:37.260

then what's the point of the intention other than the76400:43:37.320 --> 00:43:40.559

fact that it's kind of a grounding place? It's more76500:43:40.599 --> 00:43:43.880

of like, I'm setting this intention and this is my,76600:43:44.059 --> 00:43:46.019

you know, this is me making a deal, making a76700:43:46.039 --> 00:43:50.900

pact with myself to go and make this happen. Because76800:43:50.920 --> 00:43:53.539

outside of that, it doesn't really make sense. You know,76900:43:53.900 --> 00:43:57.500

the simple thought of like, you know, oh, I'm going77000:43:57.519 --> 00:44:02.420

to stub my foot, you know, my toe tomorrow. Putting77100:44:02.440 --> 00:44:03.920

that thought out there doesn't mean it's going to happen.77200:44:04.360 --> 00:44:05.260

It likely won't.77300:44:05.780 --> 00:44:08.139

And if it does, it's like, what does that mean?77400:44:08.380 --> 00:44:10.829

You know, is it just coincidence? for some people it's like,77500:44:10.909 --> 00:44:13.170

Oh my God, I manifested it. And now they're kind77600:44:13.210 --> 00:44:16.460

of going crazy thinking they can manifest all kinds of stuff.77700:44:17.239 --> 00:44:20.300

But it's, it's always, I find, I.77800:44:20.400 --> 00:44:24.460

Find the whole idea of intention very interesting and manifestation.77900:44:24.480 --> 00:44:28.730

I think it's also related a little bit to superstition. Okay.78000:44:29.110 --> 00:44:31.909

For example, I always think of the baseball player who78100:44:31.949 --> 00:44:34.809

has a lucky half dollar that he, he takes with78200:44:34.869 --> 00:44:38.329

him and every time. And, it gives him the confidence78300:44:38.570 --> 00:44:40.570

that he thinks I can now, you know, I can78400:44:40.610 --> 00:44:44.010

hit the ball because if he suddenly loses that half dollar,78500:44:44.750 --> 00:44:46.289

he's going to go out there thinking, I don't have78600:44:46.349 --> 00:44:48.800

my lucky charm. I can't do anything. I can't play78700:44:48.840 --> 00:44:49.300

ball now.78800:44:49.679 --> 00:44:49.840

Right.78900:44:50.420 --> 00:44:52.179

And I think it happens the same way in our life.79000:44:52.519 --> 00:44:54.000

If you go out there thinking that, you know, I'm79100:44:54.019 --> 00:44:55.619

going to go to this party, but nobody's going to79200:44:55.639 --> 00:44:58.360

want to talk to me, then probably no one's going79300:44:58.380 --> 00:45:00.769

to talk to you. I mean, did you manifest that79400:45:00.849 --> 00:45:03.130

or did you just put off that energy to like79500:45:03.190 --> 00:45:07.280

stay away? Cause you know, I'm not going to be sociable. And,79600:45:07.420 --> 00:45:09.409

you know, so you never can really tell what part79700:45:09.469 --> 00:45:11.670

you're doing and what part is just nature.79800:45:12.150 --> 00:45:12.409

Right.79900:45:13.489 --> 00:45:13.750

Sure.80000:45:15.989 --> 00:45:19.750

So here's a question for you. In all of your80100:45:19.989 --> 00:45:24.000

years of doing this, in your opinion, what's one thing80200:45:24.639 --> 00:45:28.099

people get wrong when it comes to ghosts or even80300:45:28.619 --> 00:45:30.000

the paranormal in general?80400:45:31.849 --> 00:45:35.230

I think the biggest problem I see is the belief80500:45:35.570 --> 00:45:40.429

in evil, that the paranormal is largely dark and full80600:45:40.469 --> 00:45:44.170

of nasty little things. These things I do think exist,80700:45:44.210 --> 00:45:48.429

but I think mostly it's a place of light. And80800:45:48.880 --> 00:45:52.260

when we are thinking about these things, it's real easy80900:45:52.280 --> 00:45:54.360

to kind of dwell on the darker side of it.81000:45:55.000 --> 00:45:57.400

But I try to tell people, you know, this stuff81100:45:57.480 --> 00:46:01.639

is not designed to scare you. It's just, uh, it's81200:46:01.699 --> 00:46:03.900

just on the other side of, uh, of another coin.81300:46:03.940 --> 00:46:07.349

You know, one side of the coin is, uh, living81400:46:07.409 --> 00:46:09.510

in a, in a, in a reality that we live in.81500:46:09.610 --> 00:46:11.809

And the other side of the coin is another reality81600:46:12.090 --> 00:46:15.389

that we haven't experienced yet from the site. And there's,81700:46:15.409 --> 00:46:18.929

there's really nothing scary about either side of the coin. Um,81800:46:19.090 --> 00:46:21.929

so if I could do one thing, I would try81900:46:21.969 --> 00:46:26.880

to convince people to explore these ideas with, without the82000:46:27.000 --> 00:46:29.989

fear of, Because if you can do that, then you're82100:46:30.030 --> 00:46:32.329

probably going to have a lot more success and a82200:46:32.349 --> 00:46:36.570

lot more appreciation, not only for what's out there, but82300:46:36.710 --> 00:46:38.250

for your own life as it is now.82400:46:40.929 --> 00:46:43.860

I couldn't agree more. I've kind of walked.82500:46:45.530 --> 00:46:50.719

This whole path, this whole paranormal and occult and religion.82600:46:50.739 --> 00:46:54.099

I've walked all the different sides. And there were times82700:46:54.119 --> 00:46:56.380

where I was so focused in on religion that everything82800:46:56.420 --> 00:46:59.010

else was evil. And there was a time where I82900:46:59.010 --> 00:47:01.150

was so focused in on the occult that, you know,83000:47:01.869 --> 00:47:05.070

religion was evil. God wasn't that good, you know? And,83100:47:05.829 --> 00:47:09.179

and it's like after spending so many years and I'm83200:47:09.179 --> 00:47:12.139

40 years old now. And so after spending the years83300:47:12.159 --> 00:47:15.880

that I have walking this, the, this path, you know,83400:47:15.900 --> 00:47:20.000

I come to realize like the evil really does only83500:47:20.059 --> 00:47:24.539

exist within, for the most part within humanity. I mean, yes,83600:47:25.099 --> 00:47:26.340

there are dark entities.83700:47:26.420 --> 00:47:26.969

I believe it.83800:47:27.360 --> 00:47:32.289

I've, experienced them i've interacted with them um but i83900:47:32.329 --> 00:47:35.300

also think that like what we get out of life84000:47:35.360 --> 00:47:37.800

is what we put into it and i see time84100:47:37.820 --> 00:47:41.579

and time again people just being not good people even84200:47:41.619 --> 00:47:45.860

if they are you know religiously good uh you know84300:47:45.940 --> 00:47:49.059

spiritually good they may not go out there and like84400:47:49.880 --> 00:47:53.360

you know be nice you know It's just, it's like84500:47:53.579 --> 00:47:56.760

you have to, there is, from someone like myself who's84600:47:56.800 --> 00:47:59.159

experienced it all, or at least most, I wouldn't say84700:47:59.199 --> 00:48:02.880

experienced it all, but I experienced a lot. I could84800:48:03.179 --> 00:48:07.030

profoundly say that there is so much more in life84900:48:07.130 --> 00:48:10.670

in general outside of our own physical existence and outside85000:48:10.690 --> 00:48:14.550

of our own mind and understanding. And once we realize that,85100:48:15.369 --> 00:48:18.650

we kind of tune in and realize like, hey, nothing's85200:48:18.670 --> 00:48:21.469

really that scary if you take the time to understand it.85300:48:22.110 --> 00:48:24.769

And I think it's the misunderstanding that really sets people85400:48:24.789 --> 00:48:26.449

off or astray.85500:48:27.610 --> 00:48:33.039

Oh, absolutely. The misconceptions about the spiritual realm really can85600:48:33.300 --> 00:48:39.699

affect people in very negative ways. But to me, once85700:48:39.719 --> 00:48:44.110

you understand how the spiritual realm interacts with the physical realm,85800:48:44.829 --> 00:48:48.289

it makes me more conscious of the fact of our oneness.85900:48:49.940 --> 00:48:54.679

with everything, each other and nature itself. And once you86000:48:54.719 --> 00:48:58.320

have that realization, you're not going to be stealing and86100:48:58.380 --> 00:49:02.139

lying and cheating and killing people because to do that86200:49:02.179 --> 00:49:06.119

would be to hurt yourself. And I think that that's86300:49:06.280 --> 00:49:09.019

what I have gotten out of this sort of journey86400:49:09.059 --> 00:49:12.590

into the paranormal is that there's a really big world86500:49:12.699 --> 00:49:16.510

out there. It's a good world, but we just need86600:49:16.530 --> 00:49:18.469

to appreciate it. And then once we can do that,86700:49:18.510 --> 00:49:20.980

we can appreciate each other And I think we can86800:49:21.000 --> 00:49:21.980

get along a lot better.86900:49:23.260 --> 00:49:23.820

Yeah.87000:49:26.239 --> 00:49:28.159

That's your, that's your equal philosophy for the.87100:49:31.880 --> 00:49:36.179

So in your opinion, has that, Does that kind of87200:49:36.219 --> 00:49:39.139

explain this question of, you know, doing all this research87300:49:39.179 --> 00:49:44.940

and everything, something you've learned about being alive from studying87400:49:44.960 --> 00:49:47.139

ghosts and the paranormal?87500:49:48.250 --> 00:49:50.969

What I've learned is that there is no such thing87600:49:50.989 --> 00:49:54.889

really as death. There's a transition. You move into different realms.87700:49:55.590 --> 00:49:59.710

You come back. I also believe in reincarnation. So I87800:49:59.769 --> 00:50:02.289

think that each of all the experiences that we have87900:50:02.329 --> 00:50:05.210

in this lifetime are going to go into like a template.88000:50:06.059 --> 00:50:09.840

that's going to determine our next experience on this side.88100:50:10.920 --> 00:50:13.519

So if you can just keep adding good things to88200:50:13.539 --> 00:50:15.829

the savings account, you'll have a lot more money on88300:50:15.869 --> 00:50:18.329

the other end, if you know what I mean. So88400:50:18.769 --> 00:50:21.269

what I have learned is that, I mean, I don't88500:50:21.349 --> 00:50:25.210

fear death. I really don't. I think that I'm going88600:50:25.230 --> 00:50:29.300

to someday transition, and I'm actually thinking it's going to88700:50:29.320 --> 00:50:33.059

be kind of a cool day, actually. I think there's88800:50:33.099 --> 00:50:35.780

going to be a lot of neat things happening but88900:50:35.849 --> 00:50:38.190

I'm also looking forward to what happens after that and89000:50:38.250 --> 00:50:40.050

what I've learned from it and where I can go89100:50:40.070 --> 00:50:40.429

from there.89200:50:40.449 --> 00:50:41.610

Okay.89300:50:41.889 --> 00:50:42.110

Yeah.89400:50:43.010 --> 00:50:45.829

We had a guy on who had a near death89500:50:45.869 --> 00:50:48.260

experience and talked about what he saw on the other89600:50:48.280 --> 00:50:52.139

side and that, you know, we, we always select what89700:50:52.179 --> 00:50:57.019

we want to do when we incarnate here. And that89800:50:57.099 --> 00:51:00.300

when we go back, we're still, we're still learning on89900:51:00.340 --> 00:51:03.869

the other side. We're still doing jobs on the other side.90000:51:03.889 --> 00:51:07.289

It's just not like, Here, where you literally have to90100:51:07.349 --> 00:51:11.929

do a job to live, there you're doing it because90200:51:11.949 --> 00:51:15.420

you enjoy doing it. And that's something, if that's really90300:51:15.460 --> 00:51:18.059

what's happening on the other side, I'm looking forward to90400:51:18.099 --> 00:51:20.900

that because I'm kind of tired of working to live90500:51:20.960 --> 00:51:22.320

instead of the other way around.90600:51:22.659 --> 00:51:23.360

Living to work.90700:51:24.480 --> 00:51:27.739

Yeah, I mean, I do believe that a life review90800:51:28.030 --> 00:51:30.150

that you go through your entire life and you see90900:51:31.070 --> 00:51:33.840

both the positives and the negatives, what areas, you know,91000:51:33.889 --> 00:51:36.820

why you did this, why you made the decision, why91100:51:36.840 --> 00:51:40.039

you failed to make that decision. And you can take91200:51:40.099 --> 00:51:43.579

all this kind of learning and put it back into91300:51:43.619 --> 00:51:47.860

your next incarnation. One thing I do question, though, is91400:51:48.889 --> 00:51:52.889

how completely we pick our next life. The big thing91500:51:52.949 --> 00:51:55.309

in New Age Movement is that you choose everything. You91600:51:55.329 --> 00:51:57.869

choose your mate, you choose your job, you choose your career.91700:51:57.949 --> 00:52:00.389

Everything is all laid out before you ever come into91800:52:00.409 --> 00:52:04.679

the flesh. And I think, you know, even if everything91900:52:04.760 --> 00:52:09.039

is just random, you can still learn from that. Well,92000:52:09.199 --> 00:52:13.789

you have to have everything perfectly planned out to still92100:52:14.070 --> 00:52:17.750

learn the lessons from life, make the mistakes, learn from them,92200:52:18.250 --> 00:52:20.630

put that into your, into your, your bank account and92300:52:20.650 --> 00:52:21.610

try it again next time.92400:52:22.170 --> 00:52:22.389

Right.92500:52:22.849 --> 00:52:25.219

Well, I'm a little leery about this whole idea that92600:52:25.460 --> 00:52:27.659

we plan out our whole next lifetime.92700:52:27.679 --> 00:52:27.900

Yeah.92800:52:28.179 --> 00:52:30.500

Well, on top of that, it's like if you're going92900:52:30.760 --> 00:52:34.400

and planning to that extent, what are you then learning?93000:52:34.980 --> 00:52:38.039

You have to know what you're getting out of it93100:52:38.860 --> 00:52:41.099

if you're going to marry this particular person, right?93200:52:41.199 --> 00:52:42.619

Or if you're going to take this particular job.93300:52:43.239 --> 00:52:44.639

And what's the point of doing that if you already93400:52:44.679 --> 00:52:46.099

know what you're going to get out of it or93500:52:46.139 --> 00:52:47.179

what you're expecting out of it?93600:52:47.719 --> 00:52:50.619

Exactly. And how do you know that that person who93700:52:50.659 --> 00:52:53.769

has their own free will is going to be interested93800:52:53.809 --> 00:52:56.650

in you? You can say, oh, I'm supposed to marry93900:52:56.690 --> 00:53:00.400

this particular person. when I'm 25, but she married someone94000:53:00.420 --> 00:53:03.900

else when she was 21. So, so what do you94100:53:03.940 --> 00:53:05.800

do in that case? Does that mean that the whole94200:53:05.860 --> 00:53:09.300

plan is, is gone? It's all blown up.94300:53:09.320 --> 00:53:09.840

All right.94400:53:09.880 --> 00:53:11.420

Here you start over again. What are you going to do?94500:53:12.760 --> 00:53:13.099

I don't know.94600:53:13.639 --> 00:53:15.239

I think I'm going to write, my next book is94700:53:15.260 --> 00:53:17.400

going to be on some of these issues having to94800:53:17.440 --> 00:53:19.159

do with new age philosophy.94900:53:19.500 --> 00:53:19.699

Yeah.95000:53:19.920 --> 00:53:22.099

Just kind of looking at some of these ideas in95100:53:22.119 --> 00:53:24.300

more detail and then just see where they go.95200:53:24.559 --> 00:53:27.139

Yeah. That would be a good conversation. It would be.95300:53:27.530 --> 00:53:31.010

It's very interesting, you know, like from when we started95400:53:31.989 --> 00:53:36.730

roughly 20 years ago in podcasting and really dipping our95500:53:36.889 --> 00:53:39.250

toes at the time into the paranormal. I mean, we've95600:53:39.429 --> 00:53:44.070

been fully submerged and drowning ever since. But to see95700:53:44.139 --> 00:53:44.719

how much.95800:53:44.800 --> 00:53:47.599

And that's why we're here right now.95900:53:47.619 --> 00:53:48.400

Well, yeah.96000:53:48.480 --> 00:53:51.280

But it's like, you know, over all these years growing up,96100:53:51.360 --> 00:53:54.420

you know... we've seen so many shifts within the.96200:53:54.380 --> 00:53:57.400

Spiritual belief systems.96300:53:59.119 --> 00:54:01.809

And more and more, we're starting to realize that people96400:54:01.829 --> 00:54:08.429

are shifting them to benefit themselves rather than just believing96500:54:08.449 --> 00:54:13.130

and understanding that there is a world beyond us that96600:54:13.150 --> 00:54:15.369

maybe doesn't fully revolve around us.96700:54:16.409 --> 00:54:19.119

There are other elements, you know, Absolutely.96800:54:19.340 --> 00:54:23.059

Remember, we're basically all playing a role. We're all actors96900:54:23.099 --> 00:54:26.070

who are playing a role. And in this lifetime, I'm97000:54:26.110 --> 00:54:29.769

playing the role of Jeff Danilick. Next lifetime, I'll play97100:54:29.789 --> 00:54:31.630

a different role, but I'll still be the same actor97200:54:31.650 --> 00:54:35.349

in each role. And once you look at life that way,97300:54:35.429 --> 00:54:39.500

it's hard to get too upset about things when they97400:54:39.559 --> 00:54:42.860

go wrong. Because you think, okay, that was just part97500:54:42.880 --> 00:54:45.980

of the role. That was part of the movie. And97600:54:46.099 --> 00:54:47.880

we'll just go on and see what we can learn97700:54:47.920 --> 00:54:51.179

from it and try it again next time.97800:54:53.119 --> 00:54:56.320

So we are getting close to the end. But one97900:54:56.380 --> 00:54:58.679

question I really wanted to make sure we asked before98000:54:58.699 --> 00:55:02.920

we let you go is what's one thing or maybe98100:55:02.960 --> 00:55:06.179

more than one thing you hope people take away from98200:55:06.239 --> 00:55:08.260

the book or our conversation tonight?98300:55:10.010 --> 00:55:12.250

I think that what I want people to recognize is98400:55:12.289 --> 00:55:16.760

the fact that there are things that can exist beyond98500:55:16.840 --> 00:55:21.440

our ability to perceive them. Science works in the perception98600:55:21.480 --> 00:55:25.239

that things have to be proven. And I believe that98700:55:25.320 --> 00:55:28.269

there is things that exist that we can't prove. We98800:55:28.309 --> 00:55:30.570

just have to experience them and make of it what98900:55:30.610 --> 00:55:33.130

we can. And if people can look at this book99000:55:33.170 --> 00:55:38.300

and say, okay, I think I understand the psychology behind99100:55:38.360 --> 00:55:41.469

being a ghost and what makes one become one. So99200:55:41.610 --> 00:55:45.949

I can at least avoid those pitfalls and move on99300:55:46.630 --> 00:55:49.389

with my life, not worried about what happens to me99400:55:49.409 --> 00:55:51.239

when I die. Yeah.99500:55:53.090 --> 00:55:53.440

All right.99600:55:54.300 --> 00:55:56.980

Yeah. So final question of the night.99700:55:57.000 --> 00:56:00.320

We'd like to share. We'd like to get you to share.99800:56:00.360 --> 00:56:02.460

We'd like to ask everybody this question, of course, and99900:56:02.500 --> 00:56:04.780

it is a very important one. And it is, where100000:56:04.800 --> 00:56:07.460

can people find you, Jeff? Where can they find your work?100100:56:07.599 --> 00:56:08.659

Where can they get in touch?100200:56:09.780 --> 00:56:10.420

Okay. Do the mic.100300:56:11.119 --> 00:56:17.469

Well, I do have a website. It's ourcuriousworld.com. You can100400:56:17.489 --> 00:56:20.670

go there. There's a link there to get the book.100500:56:20.750 --> 00:56:23.309

It'll take you over to Llewellyn. You can also find100600:56:23.789 --> 00:56:27.650

the book and my other books over on Amazon or100700:56:27.690 --> 00:56:30.250

Barnes & Noble, places like that. I also, like I said,100800:56:30.269 --> 00:56:32.909

I have a YouTube channel. I have a link on100900:56:32.929 --> 00:56:35.909

that and my website, so you can go and listen101000:56:35.929 --> 00:56:39.860

to me drone on about stuff. So, Yeah, I'm all101100:56:39.940 --> 00:56:42.000

over the place. I'm out of Denver, Colorado. So if101200:56:42.019 --> 00:56:44.559

you're ever in Denver, come on by and you can101300:56:44.579 --> 00:56:45.420

buy me a hot chocolate.101400:56:46.099 --> 00:56:48.820

There you go. All right, Steph.101500:56:48.940 --> 00:56:52.750

Thank you for being on Paratroop Reborn. It's been a blast.101600:56:53.170 --> 00:56:53.590

All right.101700:56:53.949 --> 00:56:55.449

Thanks a lot, guys. Appreciate it.101800:56:56.090 --> 00:56:56.869

All right, folks.101900:56:57.690 --> 00:57:01.570

As always, we're going to go over the poll that102000:57:01.590 --> 00:57:05.039

we did with our Paratrooper community. And we asked everybody,102100:57:05.300 --> 00:57:10.260

what do you think most ghost encounters actually are. Now102200:57:10.420 --> 00:57:13.369

we had four different answers, but it was a 50,102300:57:13.369 --> 00:57:18.800

50 split. Uh, 50% said spirits of deceased people and102400:57:18.800 --> 00:57:24.119

50% said residual energy or recorded events. If this conversation102500:57:24.360 --> 00:57:29.960

has absolutely changed your mind about what a ghost is,102600:57:30.940 --> 00:57:35.369

hit it in the comments below. Um, Email us at102700:57:35.409 --> 00:57:39.590

leave a message there or even leave us a voicemail102900:57:42.210 --> 00:57:46.349

as well. If you're enjoying tonight's conversation, don't let it103000:57:47.010 --> 00:57:51.429

end when the show does. Join the Paratroop's community to103100:57:51.449 --> 00:57:55.699

keep exploring the questions we can't always fit into one episode.103200:57:56.219 --> 00:58:00.820

Participate in polls, share your experiences, and connect with other103300:58:00.880 --> 00:58:05.650

people willing to question the unexplained. And if you want103400:58:05.849 --> 00:58:10.349

more Paratruth, we do have our supporters club where you103500:58:10.449 --> 00:58:16.010

can get additional content while directly helping the show. The103600:58:16.050 --> 00:58:18.889

truth doesn't stop at the end of the broadcast. Come103700:58:19.170 --> 00:58:22.449

keep searching with us. Until next week, folks, where you'll103800:58:22.489 --> 00:58:25.309

find us same time, same channel.103900:58:25.530 --> 00:58:26.190

My name is Justin.104000:58:26.210 --> 00:58:27.260

And I'm Eric.104100:58:27.800 --> 00:58:28.179

Peace.104200:58:39.699 --> 00:58:40.420

Thank you.

Ghosts Explained

A native of Minnesota but a resident of Colorado since 1969, I currently live in Lakewood, Colorado (a suburb of Denver) with my wife, Carol, and a very opinionated Westie terrier named Pip. In terms of a greatly abridged biography, after a stint in the Navy (as a navigator and, briefly, an air traffic controller) I attended the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, specializing in illustration and graphic design before going on to work for a wide array of employers—from the public school system to the aerospace industry—until my retirement in 2023. Today I continue to maintain a pair of websites and host a YouTube channel while keeping my hand in free-lance graphic work, teach classes at Colorado Free University and work on my tennis game (with little success).
As far as my writing credits go, I’ve published five books on various paranormal subjects through Llewelyn Worldwide (with a sixth slated to come out in September of 2026) and have published six other titles—both fiction and non-fiction—through other publishers. This has provided me the chance to do lots of radio (I'm told I have the face for it). I've been a repeat guest on Coast to Coast with George Noury and the x-zone with Rob McConnell, as well as have appeared on numerous other programs and podcasts. I've also had the opportunity to speak at several seminars, including paranormal conference at the haunted Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado as well as onboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. But perhaps the best part of being a writer has been the opportunities it has affo… Read More
